ICT & Facilities Support Engineer

Support Engineer

About the role
Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and keeping everything behind the scenes running smoothly? Do you like a mix of hands-on IT support, workplace technology, and practical operational work? Then this role could be a strong match.

As our ICT & Facilities Support Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring the daily continuity of the organization. You will support around 30–35 colleagues, mostly software engineers and consultants, who depend heavily on stable IT systems to do their work effectively.

When laptops, Wi-Fi, meeting systems, or workplace tools fail, productivity is directly impacted. That means responsiveness, ownership, and practical problem-solving are essential.

We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of experience in a similar operational IT support role. You don’t need to know everything, but you do need a solid foundation and a proactive mindset.

What you will work with

You will support and maintain a modern IT workplace environment, including:

  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Admin Console)
  • Microsoft 365 (user management, Office apps, device support)
  • Network & security environments (Wi-Fi, routing, access control)
  • AWS (basic operational awareness / support context)
  • Fortigate (firewall & network security infrastructure)
  • Proxmox (virtualization environment – valuable experience)

What you will do

IT Support & Workplace Operations

  • Handle and resolve IT support requests (Freshdesk, email, in-person)
  • Support users with daily IT issues and minimize downtime
  • Manage user accounts, access, laptops, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot issues in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments
  • Support network connectivity, Wi-Fi, printers, and meeting room systems
  • Prepare, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and workstations
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain IT asset registration and inventory
  • Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements

Facilities & Office Support

  • Support meeting room setups and AV equipment
  • Maintain a functional and organized office environment
  • Assist with workspace adjustments and equipment moves
  • Handle small facility-related operational tasks
  • Proactively identify maintenance or improvement needs

Ownership & Collaboration

  • Work according to IT and security procedures (including ISO27001-related practices)
  • Prioritize multiple incoming requests effectively
  • Take initiative instead of waiting for instructions
  • Collaborate with the IT & Facilities Coordinator and team

The environment you will work in

This is a hands-on, operational role in a dynamic environment. No two days are the same, and priorities can shift quickly.

You will work closely with highly technical colleagues who expect fast and reliable support. When things are quiet, we expect you to look ahead:

  • What can be improved?
  • What equipment needs replacement soon?
  • Where do risks or inefficiencies exist?

This role offers a high level of ownership and independence.

Growth opportunities

Depending on your interests, you can grow into areas such as:

  • AI initiatives and internal tooling
  • Security and compliance (ISO27001, controls, improvements)
  • Database and infrastructure support
  • Workplace optimization and facilities improvements

We value curiosity and initiative more than having all skills from day one.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a practical, service-oriented IT professional who enjoys helping others and taking ownership.

You:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a similar IT support role (preferred)
  • Are hands-on and technically curious
  • Work independently and take initiative
  • Stay calm under pressure
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Know when to solve issues yourself and when to escalate

What you bring

  • MBO Level 4 / SBO / Associate Degree (or equivalent)
  • Basic understanding of IT systems, hardware, and networking
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
  • Affinity with operational IT support and workplace technology
  • Practical, hands-on mindset
  • Strong service orientation
  • Willingness to learn and grow

Experience with AWS, Fortigate, and Proxmox is considered a strong plus.

What we offer

  • A broad and impactful operational role
  • Direct responsibility in daily IT operations
  • Hands-on experience across IT and workplace environments
  • Room to improve processes and take initiative
  • Opportunities to grow into new technical domains
  • Informal, technical and collaborative working environment
  • Direct impact on colleague productivity
  • Competitive salary with attractive secondary benefits.
